What are your daily tasks?

Sabrina Heuberger :I handle customer orders in the territories assigned to me by my field service colleagues. I check that the goods ordered are available, adjust the prices quoted by the customer with the field service if necessary, and enter the order into the ERP system to trigger the order confirmation and all the other documents and steps in the process. If the orders are particularly urgent, I contact my shipping colleagues to ensure that the goods are loaded as quickly as possible and arrive at the customer's premises on time.

 

What do you enjoy most about this business?

Sabrina Heuberger :The contact with so many people inside and outside the company and the tension that comes with every phone call! Because I never know what I'm going to be asked to do: a small request that will be dealt with quickly - or a big challenge that I'll only be able to tackle with my colleagues in the field service, dispatch or warehouse. No day is the same and I really enjoy that.

 

You also trained at GUTEX: what did you learn and how did you get your training position?

Sabrina Heuberger :I learnt about the clerical profession at the Waldshut career day, at which GUTEX also presented itself. I then applied, did a work placement and completed my training here after three years. I then worked for two years as a dispatch manager.

Why did you choose GUTEX at the time?

Sabrina Heuberger :I've always wanted to work in sales and be in contact with natural products, and here everything suited me.

 

Where does your affinity for natural products come from?

Sabrina Heuberger :I live in an old, wood-heated farmhouse surrounded by woodland, and as both my parents and I own woodland, the subject of wood was passed on to me almost from cradle to grave.

What has been your best experience so far?

Sabrina Heuberger :I particularly enjoyed working on projects with my fellow trainees. Each year, we had to work on a new topic and carry out joint research within the company, for example on our production processes or on the methods used to test our wood fibre insulation boards before they went on sale. We then presented the results to our manager, Mr Thoma, and to the trainers.


Why do you like working at GUTEX?

Sabrina Heuberger :Because there's a very pleasant, family atmosphere at work. Of course, there are occasional conflicts, but that doesn't affect the way we work together. What's more, the human aspect and the fun factor are not neglected here.

 

What qualities are needed for a job in the Internal Sales Department?

Sabrina Heuberger :You have to be communicative, able to work in a team, assertive and able to withstand stress - even emotional stress. Because, as an intermediary between customers, the field service and dispatch, I sometimes find myself in conflict situations. I certainly don't cause them, but I have to be able to put up with them - without taking them personally. In addition, the ability to represent things spatially helps me to arrange the various orders on pallets in my mind, because that's the only way I can estimate whether the goods will fit completely on the planned lorry.

How do you feel about working with your colleagues?

Sabrina Heuberger :The collaboration with my colleagues is very good, and we meet once or twice a year to consolidate it by doing something in private. The paths to solving problems are short, because I can go straight to the right person.

 

How do you see your career prospects within the company?

Sabrina Heuberger :That's a good thing! If I wanted to improve my skills and take my vocational certificate, for example, I'd certainly get some support.
