What do you do on a daily basis?
Tim Schlachter:At Gutex, I've progressed from industrial mechanic to department manager. In this role, I plan, organise and delegate the measures needed to maintain our production facilities. This also involves sourcing and managing the necessary spare parts. In addition, I'm involved in various company projects and teams.
How many people work in mechanical maintenance?
Tim Schlachter:There are currently twelve people in the department, including an apprentice and a trainee attending the Metal Trades School.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
Tim Schlachter:We cover everything in the company, from pipework to steelwork to work on hydraulic and pneumatic components. At Ergo, there's virtually no routine work, which is what makes the job so interesting!
What makes Gutex special?
Tim Schlachter:I find Gutex to be a very well-established, healthy company with a very good working atmosphere, and the short communication routes also contribute to this.
How do you feel about working with your colleagues?
Tim Schlachter:Relations between the members are already very good. Of course, there are sometimes disagreements or discussions, but they are conducted objectively and a solution is sought jointly.
How do you see your career prospects within the company?
Tim Schlachter:They're very good, and all the further and additional training courses I've wanted to take so far have been fully supported.
What qualities do you need for a job in your field?
Tim Schlachter:In any case, flexibility and an independent way of working are essential, as are team spirit and reliability.
