Gutex 5in1: This panel has only good sides

Simply more efficient, simply more sustainable

From the experts in ecological wood fiber insulation now comes an innovation for all modern new construction and renovation projects: Gutex 5in1, the universally applicable plasterable wood fiber insulation board. Suitable for no less than 5 different applications on and in buildings, Gutex 5in1 sets new standards in terms of efficiency, handling and sustainability. Thanks to its versatility, Gutex 5in1 saves storage space and costs, reduces waste, prevents confusion and simplifies consultation. Like all Gutex products and systems, Gutex 5in1 is made from softwood from regional, PEFC-certified forests and is biologically harmless.

1 product, 5 areas of application

  1. Plasterable insulation board approved for ETICS
  2. External cladding on timber construction, ideal for VHF
  3. Rainproof underlay (UDP-A)
  4. Directly plasterable interior wall insulation
  5. Full-surface insulation layer for installation level
Process

General

  • Lay the panels with the labeled side facing outwards
  • Lay tiles horizontally, accurately fitting and joint-tight
  • All butt panel joints must be backed, cross joints at the panel joint are permissible if
  • Force-fit and form-fit connection of the wall elements (tension, compression and shear-resistant) or, in the case of roof elements, immediately fastened with counter battens
  • Fasteners for fixing the dam panels are placed sufficiently close to the respective panel edge
  • Damaged tiles must not be laid
  • Panel cannot be statically applied Gutex Thermowall 5in1 is not a load-bearing component (e.g. snow loads)
  • Increased moisture loads on the room side must be avoided
  • Rainwater run-off can contaminate adjacent building components, especially during the construction phase, due to fiber abrasion or other impurities. Appropriate water drainage must be ensured.
  • Gutex wood fiber insulation boards can be exposed to temperatures of up to 110 °C, even over longer periods of time. If higher temperatures are to be expected, e.g. for solar pipes, additional measures must be taken.
  • The required minimum distances from combustible building materials to chimneys etc. are specified in the relevant firing regulations and must be observed.
  • Dust extraction in accordance with BG regulations, observe the provisions of TR GS 553
  • Can be used in conjunction with Gutex Thermofibre blow-in insulation. You can find more information at www.gutex.co.uk//knowledge-service/media-downloads

ETICS

  • For detailed and comprehensive installation instructions on board installation, fixings and render application, see the brochure "Thermowall ETICS - The ecological external thermal insulation composite system".

 Installation level

  • Apply fermacell GF 12.5 mm single-layer interior planking over the entire surface and without cavities (recommendation: horizontal installation). Use the gun cut around the windows.
  • The fermacell GF must be fastened to the structurally stable substrate with staples:
    • On wood-based panel d ≥ 15 mm + Gutex Thermowall 5in1 + fermacell GF d = 12.5 mm, clamp: 2.0 x
85 mm (spine width 27 mm)
    • On wood-based panel d ≥ 20 mm + Gutex Thermowall 5in1 + fermacell GF d = 12.5 mm, clamp: 2.0 x
90 mm (spine width 27 mm)
  • Clamp spacing vertical ≤ 150 mm
  • Horizontal clamp spacing ≤ 400 mm (at the edge of the panel ≤ 200 mm)
  • Edge distance of the clamps to the panel edge ≥ 25 mm
  • Drive in staples at least flush and recessed by a maximum of 1 mm
  • Insufficiently countersunk staples must be removed and replaced. Do not countersink afterwards.
  • Formation of the board joints: Adhesive joint according to fermacell processing guidelines
  • The other guidelines for processing fermacell gypsum fiberboards must be observed

Plasterable insulation board inside

  • For detailed and comprehensive installation instructions on board installation, fixings and plaster application, see the brochure "Intevio - Processing instructions".

Ventilated curtain wall façade

  • Maximum axial dimension 83.3 cm
  • Connections and penetrations must be permanently taped with the Gutex adhesive system to make them wind and driving rain proof
  • 4 months freely weatherable
  • Fasten immediately with rear ventilation battens
  • Joint offset min. 30 cm

Roof

  • Maximum axial dimension 90 cm, from 60 mm panel thickness
  • Offset the joints on the roof from row to row by at least 1 rafter axis dimension
  • Rafter gaps are not accessible
  • No nail sealing tapes or nail seals required for penetrations through the soft wood fiberboard
  • Connections and penetrations must be taped rainproof with the Gutex adhesive system
  • In the case of butt joints, penetrations or at the end of the verge, the profile must be sealed at the side (see illustration below)
  • Temporary roof weatherable for 4 weeks (UDP-A)
  • All joints > 0.5 mm must be reinforced with the Gutex adhesive system immediately after installation

Note the corresponding roof pitch:

< 15° cover with suitable sheeting

Fastening for the roof

Fastening with staples or nails up to 60 mm thick is possible. Further information can be found at ITW Befestigungssysteme GmbH. Fasteners must be at least galvanized. Gutex Thermowall 5in1 can also be fastened with approved screws.
