Thanks to sustainability, team spirit, vision and modernity, we make the most of ecological wood fibre: materials and insulation systems that enable architects, planners and craftsmen, as well as builders and renovators, to create healthy living spaces easily and efficiently - in harmony with nature.

We are firmly rooted in sustainability: the first wood-fibre insulation board rolled off our production lines as long ago as 1932. Sustainability is not only a feature of our company's content and policy, but also of our employees' self-image.

Continuous reduction in emissions
  • New plant with CO2
    In autumn 2023, we opened a second plant in Eschbach, south of Freiburg im Breisgau, with CO2with our new production site, we are helping to meet the growing demand for climate-friendly building materials.
  • We are reducing emissions at our Waldshut-Tiengen plant
    We are constantly striving to consume less energy, use it more efficiently and produce more and more of our own energy from renewable sources. We try to avoid waste water, and fully reintroduce wood residues into the production cycle.
    ISO 50001 energy management,Environmental management in accordance with EMAS and DIN ISO 14001and the signing of theWIN Charterin Baden-Württemberg are testament to our commitment.
  • We were the first manufacturer in the world to use the dry process
    In 2006, we were the first to use the dry process to produce wood fibre insulation boards with a consistent raw density profile, enabling us to produce insulation boards up to 240 mm thick, improve quality and reduce energy consumption by 40% compared with the wet process.

  • Wood protects the climate
    Wood fixes carbon in the form of CO2and thus constitutes a CO2this means that every square metre of Gutex wood-fibre insulation that architects and craftsmen design and install for builders and renovators contributes to climate protection - for the life of the building. ourcO meter2measures this contribution to the nearest kilogram.
  • We use wood residues from sustainable forestry
    We only use wood from sustainable forestry - more specifically, fresh wood residues from sawmills, etc. This wood comes from the vicinity of our production site, so it only travels short distances. For every tree felled, a new one grows, which, in addition to our insulation materials, reduces CO2find out more about our productsProduction.
  • We are helping to reduce energy consumption with our range of products
    Buildings insulated with wood fibre require significantly less energy for heating and cooling.
