Intevio is the environmentally-friendly, cost-effective system for insulating external walls from the inside. It's perfect for energy-efficient modernisation of flats in blocks of flats when there's a change of owner or tenant. It's also ideal for historic buildings and half-timbered houses, as the facade remains intact. Or when, for other reasons, insulation from the inside is the only option - because of a building on a property boundary, for example. The diffusion-open, moisture-regulating system creates a healthy indoor climate, increases living comfort, improves thermal insulation and effectively prevents the formation of mould.
The Intevio interior insulation system makes energy improvements to existing buildings economically worthwhile - even for churches, halls or holiday homes that are only used temporarily: The excellent heat-storing capacity of wood fibre improves thermal insulation and reduces energy costs for heating and cooling the property. This applies even to occasionally used buildings with external insulation, which first have to be brought up to temperature, consuming a lot of energy and time. And even when the interior air is warmed up, wall surfaces and furnishings often remain cold for a long time. As well as saving costs, environmentally friendly interior insulation makes such premises more pleasant to use for a shorter period of time. What's more, Intevio is often cheaper than external insulation, because it is quick and easy to apply to the walls.
Intevio combines the strengths of ecological wood-fibre insulation with natural coatings based on minerals or clay. These materials are all characterised by their openness to diffusion, their ability to buffer moisture and their active transport of moisture - properties that are perfect for preventing moisture infiltration. Added to this is the fact that ecological wood-fibre insulation increases the temperature of interior wall surfaces and reduces the risk of condensation forming. As a result, mould has no chance in rooms insulated with Intevio, even if ventilation is not always perfect.
The Thermoroom insulation board in the Intevio interior insulation system is made from wood from PEFC-certified forests that would otherwise be thermally recycled. This wood-fibre insulation board is natureplus-certified and therefore proven to be safe for construction. At the end of its long service life, Intevio environmentally-friendly interior insulation can be dismantled and recycled. Existing buildings can hardly be improved in a more sustainable way.
The right insulation for the inside of external walls needs to be moisture-regulating, diffusion-open, heat-protective, constructionally safe, sustainable and recyclable. Conventional internal insulation, such as EPS, is often too vapour-tight and cannot buffer moisture effectively. Even mineral wool offers only limited moisture regulation, resulting in an increased risk of mould and a less comfortable indoor climate. Intevio, on the other hand, has all these properties, as it combines environmentally-friendly wood-fibre insulation with suitable clay- or mineral-based plasters to create a comfortable, healthy environment - while significantly reducing energy costs. Clever, isn't it?
The Intevio interior insulation system consists of the Thermoroom wood fibre insulation board, which is fixed to the interior wall using Gutex bonding and smoothing plaster. The Gutex universal reinforcing fabric is integrated into the subsequent layer of plaster.
Fine plaster provides a surface quality suitable for wallpapers, filling paints or satin lacquers or glazes. Clay plaster or mineral plaster can also be applied as a finishing coat, so there are no limits to interior decoration! What's more, wet or electric wall heaters and other electrical installations can be easily integrated into the interior thermal insulation.
The "Retaining Walls" brochure provides detailed information on the correct assembly, fixing and application of plaster.Gutex Intevio - The safe interior insulation system".
The components of the Intevio interior insulation system are extensively tested, open to diffusion and perfectly matched to each other, guaranteeing reliable building physics safety, regulating moisture over the long term and simplifying planning and implementation.
