Production & logistics

Regional, sustainable, good - now and in the future.

From the Black Forest to the world

In Waldshut-Tiengen and Eschbach im Breisgau, we develop and produce innovative wood fibre insulation materials - in an environmentally friendly way. We also do everything possible to ensure that our products arrive quickly, flexibly and on time wherever they are used: in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, the Benelux countries and many other countries...

Our production and logistics at a glance

  • Production of around 1,000,000 m³ of wood fibre insulation materials
  • Flexible, on-time delivery
  • Commitment to reducing energy consumption and continuously improving energy efficiency in accordance with DIN ISO 50001
  • Environmentally-friendly energy production through the operation of a cogeneration plant and several photovoltaic and biomass facilities
  • PEFC-certified wood sourced from sustainable, regional forestry

Our sites

On the road to sustainable growth

Waldshut-Tiengen, Gutenburg district

The company's head office is home to administration, distribution and production, with four plants for the manufacture of dry and wet wood-fibre insulation boards, flexible wood-fibre insulation boards and loose-fibre insulation.

Eschbach, Breisgau business park

In autumn 2023, we commissioned a second plant south of Freiburg, with CO2-neutral production, storage and administration. The heart of production is a state-of-the-art drying plant. We process regional wood, mainly from the Black Forest and the Vosges.

Our production

Increasingly respectful of the environment
Protecting the environment is an integral part of our DNA, which is why, by introducing the DIN ISO 50001 energy management system, we have committed ourselves to reducing our energy consumption over the long term and increasing our energy efficiency as part of a continuous improvement process.

Waldshut-Tiengen

For example, we operate a combined heat and power plant in Waldshut-Tiengen, which generates electricity and heat particularly efficiently. The same applies to our environmentally-friendly biomass plant, which supplies our production with process steam and heat. We also operate a large photovoltaic plant on the roof of our logistics centre. We generate a significant proportion of our own electricity requirements, and the electricity we buy comes exclusively from renewable energy sources (green electricity).

Eschbach in Breisgau

To meet the growing demand for environmentally-friendly, healthy insulation materials for the home, we have built a second factory in Eschbach. Right from the planning stage, we have consistently focused on sustainability criteria: photovoltaics generate green electricity, a biomass plant supplies the steam and heat needed for the process, and we also obtain process heat from the nearby waste incineration plant. And of course we have used the manufacturer's own wood fibre insulation boards wherever possible. In this way, the new building in Eschbach is also an example of sustainable industrial architecture.

Wood fibre insulation -

a promise for the future

Our facilities

Use several procedures
At our sites in Waldshut-Tiengen and Eschbach in Breisgau, we produce around 1,000,000 m³ of wood-fibre insulation materials a year, with drying facilities as well as installations for the manufacture of wood-fibre insulation blown in and wood-fibre insulation batts.

And this is how it works:
First of all, we steam treat the wood chips at 160°C and grind them into wood fibres, thus determining the length and width of the fibres - and therefore essentially the insulating properties of the finished product.

Our raw material

Push in front of the door

We only use certified coniferous wood, which is a by-product of regional sawmills and forestry companies, mainly in the form of wood chips, which reach us via short supply routes.

Innovation by tradition.

Back in 1932, we were the first manufacturer of wood-fibre insulation in Central Europe. Since then, we've been the leading innovator of environmentally-friendly wood-fibre insulation and systems in Central Europe, developing forward-looking insulation solutions for people and nature.
